Do you know ways self-manage your neck pain for headaches, upper back pain and dizziness? Turns out, enhancing coordination can be one of the most helpful topics in improving this.

In many cases we can struggle with the basics or even getting into a new routine of learning new activities. Just like everything else it does get easier and we have muscle memory to perform these tasks much easier. When we get injured, we may compensate or change our routine for doing various tasks related to work and our daily living. Unfortunately, we can continue to let ourselves further fall into that mindset and this can become our new normal. This can lead to other faulty compensatory motor functions. To improve this, we must first be able to identify when we are falling into that particular pattern. Secondly, we must consciously “fix” it and thirdly we must put that into action. After you are putting this into effect your brain will do this “automatically or unconsciously.”

By adding coordination-based components to our current fitness program we can stimulate the neuromotor system. When you are performing an exercise, release slowly but keep resisting. This will build coordination while the “concentric” resistance builds strength! Apply this to all resistance exercises, and remember to only use a light amount of resistance while exercising your neck, about 10-20% of a maximum push. You can also add a ball between your knees or stand on one leg while performing these exercises. You can always make these exercises fun instead of being a “chore.” Try sitting on a gym ball, standing or jumping! Always build up to a bigger goal once you meet your previous, there is always more room for growth!
