About Augustine Chiropractic

Chiropractic Focused on Your Health and Wellness

Diagnosis-first chiropractic care and integrated wellness, led by Dr. Brian Augustine since 2004.

At Augustine Chiropractic & Wellness Center, we do not treat the pain. We treat the cause of the pain. As chiropractic physicians, we examine, X-ray when indicated, and diagnose before we ever adjust, so your care targets the specific problem: a pinched nerve, disc wear and tear, tech neck, or an injury from a car accident. Serving Wesley Chapel, New Tampa, Lutz, Land O’ Lakes, Zephyrhills, and Dade City.

The Chiropractic Physician Difference

In Florida, doctors of chiropractic are licensed as chiropractic physicians under Chapter 460 of the Florida Statutes, the chapter titled Chiropractic Medicine. That license means more than adjustments. A chiropractic physician is trained and authorized to examine you, take and interpret X-rays, form a proper diagnosis, and refer you to a medical specialist when your condition calls for one.

That is exactly how a first visit works at Augustine Chiropractic. Dr. Augustine sits down with you eye to eye and knee to knee and listens to what is going on. You receive a thorough orthopedic and neurological evaluation, hands-on palpation, and range of motion testing. When imaging is indicated, we take a digital X-ray on site, or review one you bring with you. We like to see what the spine looks like rather than guess, so we can tell you precisely what is happening: tech neck, disc wear and tear, a pinched nerve, or something that belongs in another specialist’s hands.

In most cases, treatment begins the same day. And if you are not in the right place, we tell you. Most of the patients we see, we can help. For the less than one percent we cannot, we refer directly to an orthopedic specialist.

What It Means to See a Chiropractic Physician

Which Care Path Is Right for You?

The Right Treatment Starts With the Right Diagnosis

Patients rarely walk in asking for a specific therapy. They come in saying their back is bothering them, their neck is stiff from looking down at a computer all day, or they have sharp pains and numbness traveling down a leg or arm. Our job as an integrated clinic is to match your condition to the right care path, and we often test how you respond to a treatment on the very first visit.

Chiropractic Adjustment

Best For: Everyday neck and back pain, stiffness, posture problems, tech neck, headaches

Chiropractic Adjustment

Specific, controlled adjustments to restore alignment and nerve flow, using techniques matched to your comfort, including drop table and flexion-distraction methods. When the spine moves the way it should, the body functions and heals the way it was designed to.

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression

Best For: Pain, weakness, or numbness that travels into the leg and calf, or into the arm and fingers

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression

Our Kennedy decompression tables gently relieve pressure on discs and pinched nerves in the cervical and lumbar spine. This is the path we most often recommend for disc-related sciatica and radiating nerve pain, and we have dedicated setups for both the upper and lower body.

Laser Therapy

Best For: Inflammation, soft-tissue injuries, and speeding recovery alongside other care

Laser Therapy

We use Erchonia EVRL red and violet low-level lasers as a painless, non-invasive therapy to reduce inflammation and support tissue healing, frequently in combination with adjustments or decompression on your first visit.

Acupuncture and Dry Needling

Best For: Muscle tension, trigger points, and patients who respond well to needle-based therapy

Acupuncture and Dry Needling

Dr. Brooke Andrews, DC, a board-certified acupuncturist, provides gentle, evidence-based acupuncture and dry needling to release trigger points and support the body's natural healing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a chiropractor a physician?
In Florida, yes. Doctors of chiropractic are licensed as chiropractic physicians under Florida’s Chiropractic Medicine statute. That means we are trained to examine, X-ray, diagnose, and refer, not just adjust. At Augustine Chiropractic, every new patient starts with a proper orthopedic and neurological evaluation.
We care for neck pain, back pain, sciatica, headaches, joint problems, sports injuries, and auto accident injuries such as whiplash. Treatment may include chiropractic adjustments, rehab support, spinal decompression, and laser therapy when appropriate.

We accept most major insurance plans, auto insurance for accident cases, cash, and credit. Call (813) 994-6008 and we will verify your coverage, and we are happy to explain our self-pay options.

Only when your exam indicates one. When imaging is appropriate, we take a digital X-ray on site, or review one you bring, because we would rather see exactly what your spine looks like than guess at a diagnosis.

No. We diagnose, we treat, and we release. Acute cases often need only a short course of care. Chronic conditions take longer, and we will tell you honestly which you have after your exam.

Yes. Augustine Chiropractic focuses on practical, short-term plans for neck pain, back pain, and related injuries. Our goal is to help you feel better with the care you need not lock you into long treatment contracts.

Radiating pain, numbness, or weakness in the leg or arm is often disc-related. After an exam and imaging, many of these patients do well with non-surgical spinal decompression on our Kennedy tables, often combined with laser therapy and adjustments.

You sit down with the doctor one on one, eye to eye and knee to knee. We take your history, perform an orthopedic and neurological exam with palpation and range of motion testing, X-ray if indicated, and in most cases begin treatment the same day. Come in, or call for a free consultation.

Under Florida Personal Injury Protection (PIP), you generally must begin initial medical care within 14 calendar days of the crash including weekends and holidays or your insurer may deny PIP coverage for that claim. Even if you feel fine, get examined promptly.
